Via Credit Union is part of the communities where our members and staff live and work! Through various community events, ViaCU strives to make a difference. Below includes a partial listing of events ViaCU participates in each year.
CASA Sand Sculpture Artfest
ViaCU participates in the annual CASA fundraiser by creating a sand sculpture. Pictured is Sam Bacon, Ashley Slain and Kim Speidel creating a bee with the theme: "Thank you for BEE-ING child advocates".
Chronicle-Tribune Greatest Awards
The Chronicle-Tribune readers voted Via Credit Union the GREATEST CREDIT UNION in Grant County for the FOURTEENTH year in a row!
ViaCU was also awarded the Greatest Place to get an Loan!

Staff teaches students to prepare for their future by teaching financial literacy through the Junior Achievement economics program and classroom visits.
Staff and members make donations to the Nurse's Aid program through Jean Days and by purchasing fundraiser items. Each year, ViaCU is able to provide area school nurses with over $5,000 worth of items such as lice shampoo, clothing and personal hygiene items! In addition, an anonymous member donated homemade hats and gloves.
ViaCU enjoys participating at small town parades throughout the year.
Purple Thursday for Hands of Hope
ViaCU staff honors victims and supports survivors of domestic violence by wearing purple on Purple Thursday. In addition, staff makes a donation to Hands of Hope, a division of Family Services Society.
Angel Tree Programs
Each Christmas season the staff of ViaCU generously contributes to the Angel Tree Program that provides gifts to children in need in our community.
ViaCU offers six $1,000 scholarships to members who are High School Seniors and have a cumulative High School GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
ViaCU is celebrating our 85th anniversary in 2021 with 85 Acts of Kindness. One of the acts is to award three (3) additional scholarship applications with $850.
Stocked Local Food Pantries
ViaCU was notified that we were a winner of the PSCU Credit Union Giveback Sweepstakes and was awarded $4,000 for charities of our choice. Therefore, each of the following local food pantries were awarded monetary donations from PSCU and ViaCU staff, as well as Non-perishable food and toiletries.
- East Marion: The Harvest House
- Gas City: The Well
- Hartford City: Senior Center
- South Marion: Homeland Mission
- Warsaw: Combined Community Service
- West Marion: Salvation Army
ViaCU provides local teachers with a small gift to thank them for all of their hard work during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Via Credit Union awarded 23 grants totaling over $9,000 to local teachers for the funding of special classroom projects. Over the years, ViaCU has funded 116 projects totaling over $47,000 to area teachers.
This school year looked different for many schools but teachers stepped up to the challenge and developed creative projects for their classes. In light of the pandemic, ViaCU made the decision to provide funding to each teacher that applied for the Grant this school year!!
Warsaw Fall Family Fun
Warsaw staff and Coindexter Kid’s Club mascot, Piggy Banks, roast up s’mores at the campfire by the lake for families attending the event.
