Auto research

Purchasing a new vehicle can be a stressful task. Via Credit Union would like to ease the stress with some helpful tips to get the best deal.

Which car should I buy?

There are a lot of vehicles available to choose from, but which is right for you? Consumer Reports rates cars on reliability, road tests and more.

How much should I pay?

Wonder how much a particular car should cost? Find new and used car values through NADA or Kelley Bluebook to see how much you should be paying.

What is the vehicle's history?

Search a vehicle's unique 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN) found on dashboards and title documents to generate a detailed Vehicle History Report for a fee or ask the dealership to provide the report to you. It's often wise to have a trusted mechanic inspect a used car for you.

Get preapproved

By getting pre-approved you'll know how much vehicle you can afford. This is a great time to evaluate your budget, but be sure to factor in insurance, gas and maintenance costs of the new vehicle.
